Bully Prevention Week OCTOBER
Welcome to the 7th Annual Troy Craughwell Bully Prevention Week. We are excited to spend the week exploring strategies to keep our school a safe and caring place in which to learn. Students will begin the week by signing a pledge vowing to be a part of our anti-bullying campaign. The pledge is as follows:
We pledge to make Troy Craughwell a safe and caring place in which to learn. We believe that everyone has the right to come to school each day and feel safe and respected. We will NOT tolerate bullying of any kind. We will have the courage to become involved to keep our school safe and free from bullying.
During the month of October/November each student will receive their own copy of this pledge to sign. I will be visiting each classroom and giving a 30 minute lesson on bully prevention. Strategies to stand up to bullying behaviors will be discussed.
We start each day at Troy Craughwell with a three word thought. This week, each day the three word thought centers around our theme of being bully free.
MONDAY: Three word thought: Bully free me. Students and staff wear RED to denote that we are supporting all efforts to stop bullying.
Our Morning announcement will begin with our Troy Craughwell theme song.
The song is as follows:
I don’t know but I’ve been told.
Craughwell kids are good as gold.
They don’t tease or bully me.
Even when we don’t agree.
We can always work things out.
We don’t have to scream and shout.
We don’t push or hit or punch.
And we have a blast at lunch.
Sound off, one two.
Craughwell kids are really cool.
TUESDAY: Three word thought: Help others out. Students and staff wear YELLOW to denote that we are spreading our sunshine into the lives of others.
WEDNESDAY: Three word thought: Be nice anyway. Students and staff wear GREEN to denote we are growing towards being the best person we can be.
THURSDAY: Three word thought: Ask for help. Students and staff wear blue to honor first responders, Police and Firefighters who help others, we can help others too.
FRIDAY: Three word thought: United we stand.
Students and staff wear RED, WHITE and BLUE to honor our country and show that we are united against bullying in our schools.
Thank you for participating in this special week with us here at Troy Craughwell.
